This is a rough for a Malcolm Gladwell Portrait.
Concept: Since he’s been criticized for over simplifying complex concepts & theories… I wanted to convey that in this portrait.

So.. I have the final version for the Angela Davis poster commission (from UTSU)

I ended up replacing the photograph with a graphic styled drawing that I did on Photoshop.. I wanted to use a more classic/realism drawing but figured a bold design would be more suitable.

I have a fear of drawing faces.. particularly noses. So, I decided to practice drawing them in many variations. I think it helps when you think about them in terms of geometric shapes.

It’s nearing the 2nd semester of 2nd year and I’m thinking… wow, I really need to push for experimenting around to reach a style by fourth year.

Sunday, sunday, sunday. I hosted the first “art in odd places” event.. (there shall be more in the spring!). We explored the empty UC building… it was interesting, but not as creepy as I thought it would be.

We found this drawing on the door that resembled my friend’s hair!! WEIRD.
