I went to a “writing for comic books” workshop taught by Mariko Tamaiki last night at Buddies in Bad Times. I really really know much about the process or aspects of comic book productions, but after leaving the workshop, I had a pretty good idea as to what the basics were all about. Mariko Tamaki was a great down to earth “teacher” ;), the interactiveness of the workshop also kept things more interesting and less redundant.
Since my girlfriend illustrates really cute things relating for our relationship like this one:

I made one relating to our relationship too :p (’cause I don’t really know where else to derive a storyline from). This is a horribly illustrated comic exercise from the workshop:
Frame #1: (Me as the cloud with mustache raining out projects) - “So much work :(”
Frame #4: I miss honey-poo
Frame #6: I have to finish all of this work before seeing…
Frame #7 Honey-Poo!!
// End. Back to practicing drawing skills

I finished this portrait of Jimi Hendrix last night

I’m trying to practice technical stuff (with a series of portraits of my idols) but they always turn out… not so typical…
Stencil style, halftone.

I’ve added a sketchbook section to the blog (that I’ll upload with sketchbooks as they’re being completed!).
